Just some thoughts

I was talking to my brother the other day, and I brought up the fact that Lord of the Rings was probably the most emotional movies I had ever watched. I have really never cried as much in ANY movie then I have in these. Peter Jackson was almost obsessed with self-sacrifice, so you can see throughout the whole films! I believe that the first picture of self-sacrifice that was in it, was displayed by one of my favorite characters...Frodo! He sacrificed almost everything he had ever known, to take the quest that was laid before him. The second picture was when we see(another one of my favorites) Arwen, during the Flight to Ford. I love where she says "What grace has given me, let it pass to him. Let him be spared. Save him." That was very touching for me the first time I saw it, and it still is. And of course there is where Arwen gives Aragorn the Evenstar. And where Gandalf(like Christ) gives up his life to save that Fellowship. And of course where Sam goes after Frodo(and nearly drowns doing so). And on, and on, and on. Leave some of your favorite touching scenes in the comment section!

I don't know if I have a favorite, but the part when sam says " I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you!"
Is at the top.
I never teared up so much in a movie before, each movie had there emotional scenes........... but like I said I don't really have a favorite scene.

Oh yes, I love how emotional the movies are! I think that's why I like them so much. There is SO much to feel for them all! Frodo's my top favourite character!! : ) Lol

I love the part where Elrond gives Aragorn the Sword, and says "Put aside the ranger. Become who you were born to be" Very emotional, because it was there when Aragorn had to accept that he had to stop hiding, and fulfill his purpose.

Cylleruion Gwaithovorn,

Well, you have to admit, Lord of the Rings IS a tearjerker.

@Merilwen: No I don't have to admit it is a tearjerker. And no lotr's is honestly NOT a tearjerker...at least it's VERY low on a scale of 1-20. (it might make a 4)

Of course being a boy I found most of the so called emotional parts...annoying. I did love the one with Sam, that's one that was actually IN the books.

If your looking for a tear jerker watch the movie shadow lands sometime.

Cylleruion Gwaithovorn,

You are probably the only person who believes that.

I cry in all the movies, every time I watch them.
-When Boromir dies
-When everyone is crying after Gandalf "dies"
-When Gandalf and Eomer come to the rescue in the Two Towers
-When Haldir dies (seriously, I think it's the music)
-When Denethor tells Faramir he wishes he died in Boromir's place! :(
-When Frodo tells Sam to leave :(
-Sam's speech in the Two Towers
-When Sam carries Frodo up Mt. Doom
-When Frodo leaves :(
Hmm. I think I might cry too much.

I love all of them, but mostly Sam just looking out for Frodo the whole time, is what I like about it. Also, the way Peter Jackson portrays Aragorn, and how much he is concerned for the hobbits is really touching.

This website is really neat! Thanks for putting it up! :)

Another thing: When Frodo leaves, I just cry. Even playing "The Grey Havens on the piano makes me cry. Playing "Concerning Hobbits" on my flute makes me cry too. wierd, huh? :)

My most favorite scene in the Fellowship of the Ring is where Frodo is parting from the Fellowship and Sam runs after him. Then Frodo tells him to go back and Sam jumps in the water, even though he knows he can't swim. It's such a powerful scene because it shows you how much Sam really cares about Frodo. He was willing to risk his life [jumping in the water] to go on the dangerous journey to protect and care for Frodo. The world needs more people like Sam, huh?
